Leslie, Jade and Reyna │ Jackson Michigan Family Photographer

Another milestone passed, another session with Miss Reyna Bug. She's now 19 months old! I'm so glad to have the chance to capture her as she grows up.

I love urban downtown sessions and was excited to try a few new things with this family. I hauled out my $4 antique chair from home and we kicked back in the alley. Downtown is definitely my favorite location to shoot at. I am thinking of putting out a call for families to do a few "guinea pig" sessions with me... anyone interested? I'll post something on here soon. (yes, yes, I have lots of ideas going on right now... not enough time. Anyone know how to add more hours in a day?)

Well, without further ado... here they are! I hope you love them, Les!

C family... I promise to have your gallery up by tomorrow. Here is your sneak peek... just a tad bit late!

Some of you may remember Lauren from last year.... here she is- she's THREE now!

Her older sister got in on the fun too...

Personal

I'm going to attempt to post more personal pictures here... kind of share a little glimpse into my life instead of just posting client sneak peeks.

This weekend my oldest son, Porter (who is 2.5) stayed with my sister in law. We went to pick him up today and of course I couldn't forget my camera---- we have some cute nieces that I just had to snap some pictures of!

Lindsy │ Jackson Ann Arbor Senior Photographer

About 8 years ago, I worked at a daycare center near Spring Arbor University (where I graduated). I worked with Kris, the director, who often had her two pre-teen children with her at work. Kris and I still keep in touch here and there, and I was thrilled when she contacted me to do Lindsy's senior pictures.

Now, its been about 8 years since I'd last seen Lindsy. Isn't it funny that the girl I pictured meeting was the exact same 10 year old Lindsy I knew 8 years ago? Imagine my surprise when I walked up to this gorgeous young woman and she was no longer 10 years old!

Lindsy was honest- she was NOT looking forward to having her picture taken. I understand- I've been on the other side of the camera a time or two and it is incredibly awkward (and often I can't imagine why people PAY me for this LOL!). I think, though, that I ended up with some great shots of her- I hope I've captured what she and her family have visioned as her senior pictures.

Lindsy- it was great to chat with you this afternoon and I'm so thrilled you trusted me with your senior pictures. I hope there are at least a few that you love! Good luck with your upcoming college decisions!

Updated Cards and Sessions

I'm slowly getting back into the groove of working again. After so many months off (not to mention a new baby and a new house), its hard to get back on track. It doesn't help that I haven't established my office at the new house yet- too many other projects going on thus far. So, I've set up camp in our guest room until we finish my office. I feel discombobulated and unorganized.

This year has flown by and I'm excited for the upcoming months with all the sessions I've been booking. I have many repeat clients (that I can't wait to see again and see how much the kiddos have changed in the past year!) and many new clients as well.

I am hoping to have quite a bit of changes around here.
  • I'm tossing around the idea of offering a cd of full resolution images from the session.
  • I also spent this evening working on some new newborn announcements and will begin creating a few new holiday cards for the 2008 season
  • Speaking of holiday season... I'm thinking of running a few mini session days in October and November. The mini sessions will be shorter than a typical session and will only feature 8-10 proofs. The purpose will be basically to get a few great images for your holiday cards
  • I desperately need to update my website with some new images!
  • I need to update my session information packets
I'm going to be offering new cards from now on (both holiday and newborn). These cards will be double sided and will not be your typical Target style card. They will be printed on either art linen, pearl or standard cardstock. They're sure to wow anyone who is lucky enough to be on your list.

Keep an eye out for a new line of cards for the 2008 Holiday Season. I'll be posting them here in the next few weeks.

Grace turns ONE! │ Jackson Michigan Toddler Photographer

Grace is one of the first "babies" that I've had the pleasure of watching grow up through my lens. I met her (twice) for her newborn session and again this February for her 6 month session. It seems like just yesterday.... and now she is the big "1"... on her way to toddlerhood. Her toupee has grown out to an adorable mop of dark hair and, much to my excitement, her adorable rolls are still around. I love rolly babies!
