Nicole and a Date with 8 │ Jackson Michigan Maternity Photographer

Yesterday I wrangled up four of my preggo friends and we headed downtown to play around with my new baby: a Canon 5D Mark II. I'm typically used to doing maternity sessions indoors with window light and dramatic lighting. I'm not used to urban type maternity shots and I really wanted to try my hand at it.

Quite frankly, I sucked. 10 minutes into it I was out of ideas! Thank goodness these ladies are gorgeous and so funny and willing to put up with my weird ideas. We tried some things that, well, uh... just didn't work. And then we tried things that were amazingly brilliant. It was a trial and error thing and I'm so luck to have willing guinea pigs!

These.... oh these are my absolute favorites. LeeAnn mentioned she brought along a scarf. She didn't think I'd ask to use it in this way..... I think these images turned out great! Thank you, girls, for braving the alleys of Jackson and getting naked for my pictures! :)

I met up with Lukas and his family today and couldn't be happier with the pictures. Lukas was so cooperative and easy to work with.




I snuck in some pictures with mom and dad as well... and his soon-to-be baby brother!

I'm still here... still here! I apologize for not posting recently, but I've been super tired, super uncomfortable and just plain lazy and unmotivated. Nice, huh? I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant and counting down the DAYS until this little one arrives.

Here are a few pictures from my last few sessions. I have one more session this weekend... a twin maternity- and possibly a newborn or two squeezed in before my due date. The maternity session photos here- she was due on my due date, May 23, but had her sweet little girl, Ashley, at I believe 32 weeks gestation? Anyhow, as far as I've been updated, baby Ashley is doing fine and I may be doing her newborn session before her actual due date if she's home before then!

So... I've kept business slow, and I've unfortunately had to turn away many clients as I'm just way too tired on top of my day job. that and it seems like May/June is "THE" month to have babies. I can't tell you how many people seem to be due in May/June of this year. And that just doesn't work out with my schedule... darn it! Hopefully some of you out there are due in July/August/September... anyone? Anyone?











If you've hung in there and are still reading this blog... thank you. I'm sure my hiatus has lost some interest in readers. If I had any to begin with LOL!

Anyhow, keep posted. I'll have another session or two (or three) possibly before my due date, and then I promise to update you with pictures of my newest little guy.

Bonding already │ Jackson Michigan Maternity Photographer

Baby Luke could already tell when his big sister was around. Every time Allison was nearby and was talking, he kept jumping around and kicking his poor mom! How precious that their sibling bond has started already. Allison said she was so excited to meet baby Luke and want him to be here before Christmas. Let's hope for that :)

This cute little family is anxiously awaiting little guy #2.... isn't the name Braxon so cute (I hope I'm spelling it correct, Melissa!). He will be joining big brother, Hunter in late December. Keep an eye out for his newborn session!

and a great session today! Can you say gorgeous!? I swear my clients and their children are all so gorgeous... how do I get so lucky to photograph such beautiful people?

Courtney is about 7.5 months along with the "mystery baby"... sex unknown... and she has the cutest little belly!

It was a great session, I love it when I feel like I "click" with clients... we chatted about pregnancy and babies and boobs and jobs and dogs and all that fun stuff. It made for a fun afternoon.

I love this "sweet spot" I found in her house... beautiful lighting!!

You'll have to keep your eyes out for "mystery baby's" appearance in September... lucky me gets to photograph him/her after he/she arrives! And, being one of my clients, I'm sure he/she will be absolutely breathtaking.
