While on vacation, I met up with Jaime and her family to do a family session.  Let me just say- I could live at the beach.  All the time.   To be honest with you, the week was chilly.   I don't think the weather was above 63* all week.   This day in particular was really chilly- in the 50's.  But, the sky was gorgeous and so was the family, so really what more do we need?   They were SO FUN!   I was so anxious to get home and get them into Photoshop so I could play around with them.   Be prepared:  I will be sharing many more!  

I am going to be scheduling some Michigan faux-ocean Beach Sessions (aka: Lake Michigan HAH!) this summer, and later this fall.  Would anyone be interested?  

Snowflakes and Purple Balloons | Jackson Michigan Child and Family Photographer

Super quick session with this awesome family tonight.  Little George has curls to die for, and was such a trooper in the cold.  He didn't last long, but it was long enough to get some great images.  I was excited when Kate told me they were wearing pops of purple, so I stopped by the Ballooney Bin and picked up a bunch of purple balloons.   George lost interest after the wind blew them into him one too many times, but they were perfect while they lasted!

Winter Mini Session | Jackson, MI Family Photographer

I woke this morning to gorgeous, huge snowflakes falling from the sky.   Immediately I knew it would be gorgeous for a winter mini session.   I was so excited when the Dobbens contacted me for a last minute winter mini session.   It was COLD this afternoon... 19*!  I, stupidly, underdressed and froze my katoosh off.   It was worth it, though!  Just look at this gorgeous family!   It is hard to believe that their oldest boy was in my 2nd grade class when I student taught 7 years ago!  Talk about feeling OLD!    Thank you, Dobben Family, for toughing the cold with me and letting me capture your beautiful family!

This amazing (and gorgeous!) family lives in the school district I recently worked in.  In fact, their two oldest boys have been in classrooms I worked in and I was the oldest sons' student teacher!).  It sure makes me feel old to know he's in 9th grade now!!   I absolutely love families like the Plates- playful and fun loving.  I'm pretty sure we laughed most of the session as they lovingly picked on each other to make each other smile.   Perfect.  Enjoy your (rather large!) sneak peek!  So glad to have had the opportunity to capture your beautiful family and handsome boys!

The Carne Family | Ann Arbor Family Photographer

I've had the joy of photographing the Carne family since they were expecting Max and Sarah.  And I saw them again when they were newborns.  And again as one year olds.  And again at 2.  They are now 4 years old and so spunky and adorable!  

We had a great session in Ann Arbor and lots of laughs and jokes during the session.   Thanks for a great evening, guys!

One of my mini session families came all the way from Ohio to meet me.  We've been "Facebook Friends" for awhile now (as we have a few mutual friends in common... you know how that goes), and it was SO nice to finally meet Shannon and her family in person!  Adelyn and Collin are DARLING!  They gave me a run for my money but.... nothing I'm not used to with little ones!  We were cracking up by the end of the session... by the time we'd get one in place nicely and get the other situated, the first was popping back up and distracted by something else.  It was hilarious.  Never fear, we got some adorable shots though!

Rachel contacted me about a mini session spot and when I told her I had one available she said, and I quote "I felt like I hit the jackpot when you told me a spot was available!"  I. Love. That.  What a fun family to shoot- her boys remind me soooo much of my little guys.  They're goofy and silly and have lots of energy... I know what its all about!  I sure hope that your gallery is "jackpot" worthy, Rachel!!

Ok a super duper quick sneak peek because I'm on my way out the door for another session this evening.   I wanted to post this last night but.... I fell asleep at the computer.  True story.

Anyhow, the Bagbeys.  I love this family.  They're super fun, super loving and the kids, oh so darling!! During their session yesterday, mom asked if we could do a "kissing" picture because it was their 11th wedding anniversary that day!   Ok, what an awesome way to spend your anniversary- with me!!  Ok, not really.  (I know you'd rather be in Hawaii, right B?)   Anyhow, I'm pretty sure we achieved the kissing picture and more.   :)
